And are the shocks adjustable?
Since i'm running 944t trailing arms i'll have an m14 bolt at the bottom, but now with all this concern re: front coil-overs, i'm concerned about the top rear shock mount. any ideas?

Yes,

the Käfer Cup brace will tie in the upper shock mounts.
That should give you plenty of strength.
