Well i went to see the car again yesterday & forgot my camera
I will be going there again tomorrow and take some pics before it goes into the paint booth. |
I am looking forward to the pictures... I love that color.
and what could you want to change about that? starting to look like mine. :D
I cant wait to see some color on it....:D
Inching closer. Dig that South Fla. Miami Vice primer.:D
did u take all the wiring out?
the front part of the wiring harness under the front hood was removed and pushed up behind the dash so that none of the wires would get painted.
I did get a chance to stop by the car today and it was just about to get some paint on the door jams and up in the front trunk area :D cant wait to see in on the weekend! will take some more pics |
It is like christmas in july :) I bet it will look good

Alex |
very nice. saw a few PT's with that color when down in FL this weekend. that is going to be a great look.
Looks cool Joe. It reminds me of my first 72 1302. It was a Formula V in a Blue that was close to your blue but a little darker.
I like it Joe, that is gunna be a very sick Supa.

I should have the final pics by the end of the week  |
Grrrr.... ok i guess we can wait...
I know its tough, but you can do it :D
I took some pics of the car when after it was painted and wet sanded, but it looks to dull to show on the net. I figured it would be better to wait til they laid the clear down and get it buffed out to nice brilliant shine. |
I hear you... I use to paint Helmets for a living so I know how tempting it is... they look good with the base coat on but they look awesome cleared sanded cleared sanded cleared sanded buffed buffed ect....
Well guys, it looks awesome!
It looks like a shiny bowling ball :D I went there today and helped put the fenders on the car. Tomorrow I will go there and help put the hood & decklid on. Then if it doesnt rain again, I will take some pics for you guys. The only thing he has left to paint is the bumpers, door handles & headlight rings which he will do while the car is at the headliner shop. |
Quote:
can't wait to see it. still have to figure out if i am taking mine straight to interior (for headliner and ragtop) or if i am bringing it home for some work first then there. guess it all depends on when john is ready and my CSP brace gets here. you should be back together in no time. |
I dont know about the 3 holes ;) , but he definitely painted the one big hole (sunroof) :D
Well here is what you guys have been waiting for.
The car is buffed out and looking good. He didnt get a chance to put the decklid or hood on yesterday, so I took pics of it anyways. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...2/fb6ad9d4.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...6/fb6ad9dc.jpg |
WOW, that looks great!
Gonna have it done for the meeting? :) How did the body guy put the roof in? Is it seamed right at the crease in the roof? Or did he peal back the rain gutter? |
No, Im not gonna have it ready for the meeting :(
It should be ready for Bug Jam though :D As far as the roof goes, he originally planned to seam it in at the rain gutter, but because I used a roof section from a 1303 it ended up not having exactly the same roof crease down the side. So in order to keep the creas the same, he had to graft it in at the crease instead of at the rain gutter. You can even tell at all. |
Looks good and that color is lighter than mine. The roof came out nice as well. Nice to see it put all back together. Did you go with black or body colored trim?
I shaved the body molding and blacked out the window chrome.
