I have real reservation about cutting into the torsion bar housing. In order to, for me lesson the possibility of a 915 trans fitting. I have reserved possibily using a much weaker in poundage torsion bar and the coil oves. The ideal of the 902, because of length, knowing that it has a weak first gear; rather than touching that strong point in the rear suspension. Even when they modify by cutting out areas, gives me the shivers about breakage in the exact area.

This Porsche bolt that you use for the lower coilover mount will be all that support your car/ride height. Will this be a dialy driver?

I understand your concerns but I wanted the original width. using 7J fuchs and aluminum trailingarms meant I had to cut the torsion tube.
the lower shock bolt is disined to carry the weight, this is why i bought it and not use a home made bracket.
All comments are apprecieted;)

It will not be a daily driver. it will be my "good wetter" and VW meeting ride.

Today I reached a new milestone. The floor is of to the sandblaster to get blasted, metalized and get some undercoat.

Absolutely! It great seeing someone taking their time to sort the details out. I usually don´t have that patience...

I'm sure it will be fine, The loads are well distributed in your design, brilliant height adjuster idea, but the lower bolts would keep me awake, I know they are super tough, but could you not run a tube through the arm, TIG weld it in and through bolt it?. as if you don't have enough to do already lol.:)

Those arms in much heavier 944/944T race cars are running pure coil-overs and that single shear bolt on their arms. I am doing the same in my Bug and have no thoughts drilling or welding the cast aluminum arms. If I was that worried I would rather replace the arms with the heavier Mendeola arms. I am working on making the upper shock mount double shear on two chassis now and will post on my build thread as it plays out.
