My question is to all of you who have HID's allready is that do the regular H4 HID kits come with Hi and Low beams or do I need to order the special Bi-Xenon ones? Thanks

Clint

Most H4 HID kits come as a low beam only. Now...like you said...they have bi-xenon which reflects the light so it is a high and low beam in one.

BTW, I have the Xenarc X6024 kit...awesome!!!

If GRMNLK is who I think he is, he hasn't got them in his new '58' as his VERY nice 66 was killed on the freeway just before christmas :bawling:

Its about time to bring back an old issue...
I know how HID systems work but i cant figure out if they will work correctly with the stock (seales beam) or with the clear lense headlights on a 1973 super, because of the small cap both headlamps have (where the tip of the bulb sits behind). Factory HID as the Audi A3 the headlamp has a small lense.

Can anybody explain the difference??? Im really confused on the headlamp technology and Im getting pissed off.  :bawling:
Can I fit an upgrade kit (single or Bi-xenon) to a normal headlamp or i will have to retrofit parts of an A3 headlamp unit for example into an original super headlamp?

Really? I thought they were H4s for the regular head lamps, H3s for the fog lights (Cabrio only), and something else for the high beams. Very interesting.

A Sealed Beam HID upgrade kit should fit fine in a stock bucket. Mine fit fine in my 58 beetle. My HID bulbs sit in a little black box, that reflects off the back of the sealed unit, then through the front lens then my Bosch lenses. I'm lucky to get a kit that utilizes sealed beam technology. I couldn't imagine making my own out of projectors like some of the guys on here...good job :agree:

I had H4 HID converstion on my 1999 Galant attached are pics. I also asked the question Projector vs My regular headlight housing I was told by my sponser there is not much of a difference just the consentration of the beam is stronger for a projections housing. The benefits are still there for an HID regeardless of the housing.

Time to bring back a nice issue:

I just saw the pics of Hugo's beetle (yeah the one getting the rorty's chassis and v8 powerplant) and from what i saw he is running HIDs. If Im wrong correct me.

I didnt want to ruin your thread so i believe that it would be nice if you could enlighten us a bit on this thread. Im asking this since you re the only one ive seen with HIDs in upright headlamps

Yes I have HID with hi/low.

I am taking from BMW 330i.

I put all in the unit. hi/low beam, turn signal (blue), side marker (amber)

But I have to cut the fender, for the projector.

some pics.
