amen to that. i've about had it with having to beg to pay people to do a job right. i told my wife we need to fire the lawn care guys because they just can't seem to do a simple job right and her comment was "well, at least these ones show up when they are supposed to". customer service has just gone out the window when you are rationalizing people just showing up to do a half-a$$ job.

but i am going waaaayyyyy off subject. get that car on the road!

Beth's open house for the new office was this past weekend, so thats one more project off the plate... This weekend we'll finish the rental property remodeling and that'll be done as well (after over a year of work off and on!)

Then I just have 7 big assed Oak and Poplar trees to saw up for firewood out of the front yard and we;ll be able to get back to work on the car...

BUT len just gothis SCCA license, so we'll be losing one weekend a month to go spank the asses off of some Mazda and British cars with a little ole 1800cc TIV in a 914 :-)

So, how's the final week going? :p

massIVe 79 vert July 19th 2007 14:45

Final week huh? Guess Jake better get started then! Cause he hasn't even touched the engine yet

wrenchnride247 July 19th 2007 19:28

Well, from what I seen last week he did "touch" your engine... to move it out of the way to build two other engines  . Sorry Beth, my smart a$$ side got the best of me for a second. ;)

NO_H2O July 20th 2007 03:00

I heard that those two engines were BIC's to boot.

massIVe 79 vert July 20th 2007 10:06

What's worse than pushing them aside to work on something else is when he "borrows" (aka steals) my new parts to put them on something else

Massive Type IV July 24th 2007 07:08

We have a break from SCCA events for a couple months since we decided not to hit Nashville on labor day....

So this weekend we'll try to finish the rental property and we can get back on the bug...

wrenchnride247 July 24th 2007 17:16

Schweeet!!! :) can't wait!

Nice car. Congrats. :)

What happened to the 2 litre?

wrenchnride247 April 27th 2008 21:11

So that's what you were doing this weekend...very nice video! (of course the car is killer too)

massIVe 79 vert April 27th 2008 21:11

The 2 liter will be going in a couple of months from now....

The 2.9 was just for dyno day and the first few shows of the season. Now it will come out, the 2 liter and the A/C will go in. :D

jmacd April 28th 2008 15:19

kewl vid! Thanks for the plug at the end...

Werd. I was just curious to know what kind of fuel mileage you'll get from the 2 litre with all of the efforts put into efficiency. My 2270 pleasantly surprised me before the speedometer cable broke. I averaged somewhere between 22-26 mpg for 237 miles. I'm sure I could do better if I kept my foot out of it.

Massive Type IV May 1st 2008 01:45

26 MPG is average for most 2270s..
The 2.9 has a best of 33 MPG, it averaged 30.3 over almost 300 miles two weekends ago.. Thats even with 52 IDAs..

I swapped it to 48 Dells to see what happens for MPG and to get some drive ability out of it.. Between a 3,000 pound clutch and a pair of race prepped carbs the car can be a handful, especially in the middle of a corner..

yetibone May 1st 2008 19:23

That's impressive for such a large engine on carbs. Was you're 3 litre that frugal on fuel?

Massive Type IV May 7th 2008 06:37

The 3 liter shared the same case, bottom end and even camshaft.. Ig got a best of 25 MPG with the billet heads and didn't make as much power.

The MPG and drive ability as well as power from the 2.9 combo is directly related to the twin plug heads and the capability of running north of 10.5;1 CR on as little as 89 octane.

This is the smoothest running and best behaving street engine I have ever built, hands down... As soon as I removed the IDAs the drive ability was literally just as good as my FI cars..
Dells: Gotta love' m

NO_H2O May 8th 2008 07:37

Sweet video. I finaly got a chance to watch it. That is one nice car. I need to finish mine and get it back on the road. I think I will set aside time this summer to get it done. Your video has motivated me.

oasis May 8th 2008 10:56

Very cool car and very cool video. It looks like it was well worth the extra wait. :righton:

massIVe 79 vert May 8th 2008 15:30

Thanks guys.

It did feel good last weekend...cruising thru the mountains....top down...sun shining....:D

But, this might be the last "project" for a while. It gives me a whole new perspective when I check out other people's cars at the shows now. It really is a labor of love. :banghead:
