Kevin is definetly doing some great work there! Very well done! I hope you make a couple of videos, I am anxious to hear what it sounds like!

Looking good. Looking through your site I found this picture. Is this panel something you made?

Yes, we made the cover for access to the clutch master cylinder if needed.

Here is the latest from today....

Yes, but small steps. We had to combine two 1958 gas tanks into one (one was really crappy, the other had bad rust). Kevin made a baffle for it as well.

Also, the air intake and exhaust system are out for coating so we are waiting on that stuff to finish. After that, we should have all the necessary systems in place to get it fired up for the first time.

You can't paint that!

Indeed avesome car ;) I'v got "only" front mendeola suspension waiting installation with a ton of other well thought modifications and expensive custom type 1 engine.

Would love to see at track which would faster ;)

Oil Sump

Hi, any chance of getting a closer look at your oil pan sump while in the car, in the fully bolted up posiiton.

I've been really searching the net on the EZ36R. How will you address the AVLC valve. Sorry I forgot the abbreviation of the AVLC valve, it supposed to advance the intake cam for better emissions and performance.

:o sure would like to see the undercarrage of the engine and oil sump:rolleyes: Ah come on:D

I sure like the alternator mount! Did Kevin build that?

You never know about these things! :) But after tuning I should be around 300HP. 8)

But for a comparison, here's a stock EZ30D with Pandoo(?) EFI in a 914 in Brazil:

Note that this is NOT the AVCS "R" version so the "R" should be a bit stronger in power and rev. The sound of that motor makes me drunk! lol

Engine management for my EZ30R is being handled by Redline. They have a EZ30R *specific* harness that plugs into the AVCS sensors, etc. The Redline ECU handles control of the AVCS out of the box. Redline and Mendeola worked out this harness because of the Manxster builds with the same motor, so it's proven. It uses all of the stock Subaru sensors so you basically just plug in the harness, tune and go.

Most Redline dealers will not know about this kit because of how it came together (Redline/Mendeola collaboration). Mendeola has some tuning maps that take it to just over 300HP stock, naturally aspirated. I think he said that the Manxsters with the EZ30R do 0-60mph in about 3.5 secs. This Ghia is a bit lighter but doesn't have the tire width that the manxsters do.

Sorry, would have replied earlier but I didn't get notification of replies. Will try to fix that.

The alternator mount came from Outfront Motorsports.

If you ever want to turbo your engine you may want to talk to this guy.
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/index2.html
he is running a 3.6 at 1000bhp .

I guess he knows all the tricks when it comes to getting performance out of those 6 cylinder subaru engines and he is a really nice guy aswell.
