I Dig it !!

Engine is back home again, need to get everything up and running with the tiny turbo setup before I go big(ger, I know you BIG turbo guys are snickering). Need to fab up the new shifter linkage, hopefully its not reverse of what I had so far.

It would have been fine just being custom, but I had to go and put everything in the back of a bug, so part of my superstructure got in the way. Narrowed and tapered it, hopefully clearance is adequate. https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...71407104_n.jpg Jason |
Here's some pics from summer 2012 thanks to JKFAB aka Jeff K.

She's back, still small turbo, but 6 speed w/LSD is a welcomed addition. Going to put a couple hundred miles on her around the Bay Area ending at the Bay Area VW/Audi group gtg. I'll get some more pics, but the boys clearly love that she's back on the road and is up for school bus duties!

Indeed a spectacular shot of an übernice car!

UBRDUB is getting a little love.
Bugorama is just a couple of weeks away and it's getting close! First off, last radiator got some trauma, so new one going in. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506344.jpg Next up new gas tank to run E85. Ditching the methanol injection for straight corn juice. There is about 1/3 less mileage to be had from ethanol so the tank is being increased to 1/3 more volume, in tank pump going in with baffles and finally a fuel level sender' http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506343.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506342.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506341.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506346.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1506345.jpg Need to get the tank sealed up and the E85 tune done, looking to get north of 450whp out of her, wish me luck! Jason |
So lucky to have corn juice on every street corner!
|
Are you kidding me? It's a one hour trip each way, here I thought you had all the corn fuel in Tennessee!
I have 2 55gal drums to keep me happy. Jason |

A reasonable weekend had at Bug-O, finally got into the 12s at 12.7' had a couple of issues, but ended up being able to drive it home again so that's a win. Corn juice took me up to 386whp, and we are stuck there cause my ecu on sees up to 2 bar, 22 psi.
Jason |
Congrats on getting into the 12's!
387WHP is almost 450 crank-hp! Is that power at the 2 bar you mention or at 22psi boost? |
22psi, maybe that's 2.5 bar? It's the max the sensor can read either way, I know I heard 22psi for sure.

14.7 psi = 1 bar |

That little video keeps popping up, its was posted last fall!
Little update, it's going to be running in a limited manor for awhile, there is still an issue with getting combustion gasses into the cooling system, may be a crack in the block, but I'm not motivated to take it apart right now, so I just drive it around town a little bit and let the gasses out. Also got a AEM V2 ECU in and tuned with flex-fuel capabilities, so it's not limited to E85 any more. Ended with 403whp I think. Also installed Toyo R888s all the way around, what a difference in traction in all aspects! Jason |
