Spare tire ?
boblebaard,
What size is that spare tire ? Is it a Porsche spare ? thanks Sandeep |
Yes, it`s a Porsche magnesium spare tyre from a 993 Turbo.
I don`t remember the size, but I can check it if you want to. |
Thanks for the reply.
I've got 993 Biturbo front brakes and need a spare tire to cover these. What is the tire size and wheel width overall ? I need to fit this in my '74 standards front spare tirewell. thanks Sandeep |
I`ll take a look at it tomorrow, and see if I can find a part number as well.
It fits the spare tirewell with no problems, in fact there is enough space around the spare tyre to fit some extra luggage.... I hope to have the car ready in about four weeks from now if the parts I have ordered from Carbon Joe arrives in time. I can also take some pictures to send you from some scandinavian VW shows if you want to! Here`s some good Norwegian sites. boblebaard,
Thanks for the links. If you could find me a part #, I'd really appreciate it. Please send us some pics from the Vw shows in your area ! If you can write a few paragraphs about your shows, send the pics and a small writeup (email is fine) to ssyan@digitalminds.ca and I will post it in the Car Shows section on the main page. Thanks ! Sandeep |

http://www.vw-racing.de They don`t have the english text ready yet, but you don`t have to understand German to look at the pictures..... :-) They have some cool screensavers as well! |
Spare wheel
The spare wheel you can use with 993Turbo brakes has part#
965 362 03 000 It has been delivered with the following models: 928 / 964 / 968 / 993 Hope this could be helpful to find a used spare wheel, because buying a new from your local dealer will be very expensive! |
Awesome !
Thanks. Now I know what to look for. Sandeep |
No problem!
Good to have a friend working for the local Porsche dealer, and me working for the local VW/AUDI dealer.... Did you get the photos from BugRun? Baard |

Not so very hard, jost cut out a bit from a wrecked Golf MK4 and welded them to my car. For the fuel filler iI welded in a piece from a Golf MK1.

very, very nice...in both cases. diggin the NB side mirrors (although it has to make vision near the A-pillar more challenging than it already is).
you have great tastes. |

I have to finnish my girlfriends 1302 Roadster this winter. |

The mirrors are from a German company called Projektzwo. ( http://www.projektzwo.de ) As you said, the A-pillars makes the difference between a good and a bad driver... ;-) |
What's up dude?
My name is Charles. I wanted to know if you have any pics of the installation of the fuel filler cap. I have a 1974 super cabrio, and I want to put on a feul filler system, and I just wanted to see how it was done. Oh by the way the car is "OFF THE CHAIN !!!!!!!" Thanks, Peace! |
Yes, I think I have some pictures.
You`ll need some parts from a MK1 Golf. Since I work for a local VW dealer I have the partnumbers for you... ;-) plate, part# 171 809 870 A fuel filling pipe, part# 171 201 129 F The cap I used is from Newton Equipment and I bought it from a local Harley Davidson shop. I`ll see if I can find some pictures when I get back home from work. |
your car has always been an inspiration to me.... I love it!!! :D :agree:
