Remmele Motorsport CF parts

If anyone is interested in Remmele Motorsport carbon fiber parts, or some fiberglass parts, let me know. I have a crate of parts coming and the shipping is by size not weight, because I ordered a hood and front spoiler(s). So I can add things and they will be in New Mexico in a couple weeks. I have already ordered a spare front spoiler in cf - to be painted- like the front bumper spoiler on the blue car. I also have an additional rear engine lid. Let me know as soon as possible if serious.

Thanks,
Randy

Do they do CF runningboards? I looked through their site and I couldn't find any body parts except a rear apron with holes in it...

Price?

Jason

SuperRSi August 4th 2013 21:37

Carbon fiber running boards standard or wide using epoxy resin are 305 euros.
CF rear hood 1303 390 euros
CF "race" rear hood 1303 built in apron 435 euros
CF roof spoiler sedan 140 euros
CF side NACA type air inlets 320 euros
All above are visible CF weave clear coat and epoxy

Their site is confusing to me, but then again I do not read German very well.

volkdent August 7th 2013 03:02

How confident are you that these will be build at a reasonable pace?

Duty/taxes/shipping?

I'm looking at the running boards and roof spoiler.

Jason

70Turbobug August 7th 2013 15:50

Running boards and roof spoilers are quickly made or in stock. The other stuff Randy mentioned is usually made to order. Shipping is really a kick in the ......, if you want any CF parts from Remmele take Randy's offer now and save shipping costs.

volkdent August 7th 2013 16:28

He just got some fenders, just wondering if shipping/taxes/duty may double the price. There is a point where it's just not worth it to me, rather make my own.

Jason

70Turbobug August 9th 2013 04:33

If the US Dollar vs. Euro is weak, then it probably wouldnīt be worth it for just fenders.I donīt know what the import tax is in the US,but shipping is expensive unless you have the privelage of renting a container. You can rent a container for around $500.The problem is filling it.Shipping a complete car is easier and as far as weight/cost also much cheaper.Randy mentioned why.The parts like hood/bonnet,fenders,running boards and bumpers have dimensions that are not normal package sizes and therefore are charged by bulk size and not weight.A CF hood/bonnet is the most expensive to send because of itīs dimensions and it requires a specially made box.

SuperRSi August 11th 2013 02:40

My Kerscher fenders cost over a grand and the duty was about $40 so I am not too worried about the duty. I will be finalizing the order on Monday so decide quickly. The shipping is huge because I ordered the hood and front bumper/spoiler, about $1,000.! I have room in the crate so that is why I offered to help those here. Volkdent if you would like I will make you a deal on my Kerscher wide running boards in fiberglass and get a set of Remmele CF for my use! Remmele told me all of the above were in stock. They will be shipping this week to Albuquerque.

70Turbobug August 12th 2013 09:05

Ships out this week? That's good news!

SilverBullet August 13th 2013 08:33

Still waiting for my exhaust! 3 months now.

petevw August 13th 2013 13:25

If there is a market for CF running boards, I can have my CF guy pop out a few sets. I had him make me a couple a few years back. Wonder if he still has the mold that he made from my 52's CF boards? Hmmmmm....... I can save you guys a couple bucks.

volkdent August 15th 2013 02:16

Super, it CF or nothing for me, but I can't justify $450 for some French running boards! I think I paid $190 for my last pair, and there are guys in the US or CAN that will make them. Pete, what does your CF guy say?

Jason

petevw August 16th 2013 15:56

Hey, my CF guy is on vacation this week. I'll chat with him when he returns mid-next week.

The boards on my '52 were purchased from Remelle more than a decade ago. I believe he was/is a reseller, as the backside has a sticker and manufacture date that are not Remelle Motorsport.

I'll let you guys know.

The exhausts are from Vintage Speed the muffler they make for Remmele has different baffles inside.Vintage Speed makes exhausts for most of the vw tuners here in Germany and others worldwide (for those who want to use the original cut outs),so my guess is their pretty busy..

Itīs possible that you have CF laminated fiberglass or epoxy running boards, which were cheaper than complete CF running boards back then.Remmele does ALL CF work themselves and always have done so.Thatīs how they started in the VW scene. They use to make CF parts for DTM cars back in the early 90s.Itīs more likely that others have copied his fenders, doors, running boards, intake systems etc.

Nope, CF boards bought from Remele in person. Tag on the backside if I remember correctly is MSS.

Oh, I didnt know that, I always thought that they did their own exhaust.
Their 4-2-1 is also from VintageSpeed?
But atleast they could have replied my mails but non so far!

70Turbobug August 19th 2013 16:46

No the 4-2-1 is made by Kurt Hassmann exclusively for Remmele. The stainless exhaust for smaller engines up to 180hp arefrom Vintage Speed. These fit in the original cut outs.He also has a similar system from Kurt Hassmann for large engines for original cut outs

SilverBullet August 19th 2013 19:17

Thats was what I ordered and paid for, the 4-2-1. Hope it arrives soon.
:)

SilverBullet September 8th 2013 12:03

Is anyone in contact with Remmele?

SuperRSi September 10th 2013 14:47

I made the mistake of asking about getting a set of CF door panels made and they are making them but that has delayed the whole shipment. I have ordered a roof spoiler and an additional front bumper/spoiler for anyone interested. I will keep you posted on delivery. And no I have not gotten any return emails for the month after asking for a set of door panels...

70Turbobug September 11th 2013 01:04

Hey Randy,
Remmele has sent you an email on Sunday.Did you recieve my PM? I have a copy of Remmele's email to you.I have just sent you the email again to your aol adress.

Mark

SuperRSi September 11th 2013 15:54

I just got the copy from you but not from them. I will wire funds when I return home on Friday.

70Turbobug September 12th 2013 00:19

Hey Randy,
I will call you on Friday then if that's ok. Just to clear any questions on both sides.PM me or mail me at my private email account what time would be best ( your local time).

SuperRSi September 13th 2013 12:11

We will have to do Sat afternoon as I am still traveling after some delays in LA...

70Turbobug September 14th 2013 16:14

Ok can I call you sunday afternoon?

SuperRSi July 19th 2014 13:39

This order went into the abyss. I have to say I love Kerscher. Order, Pay, 3 weeks later parts...

I think the Remmele issue is they have enough business at home...

petevw July 22nd 2014 12:21

That is exactly their issue.

When I was at their shop in '06 they were jammed full of local cars. Plenty busy.

Eddie said he didn't have time to screw around with North America. Was burned too many times with NA vendors and their broken promises.

Unfortunate for those of us in NA, but one can hardly blame the guy.

SuperRSi July 22nd 2014 23:29

I will keep trying for the hood and the engine cover but moving to paint as soon as I can. Wish I could have gotten the parts...

70Turbobug July 23rd 2014 05:30

Hey Randy, Iīve been trying to push him to get it done. All I can say at this point is, Iīm sorry and I will hit them up again next month when I visit or the next time I talk to them. Carbon fiber hoods, spoiler bumpers, fenders and doors will be taken out of the program. If that is permanent I donīt know at this point. The reason is,it takes too much time to make them. Running boards, dashboards, roof spoilers will remain. Edi has been in the hospital a couple of times also, wasnīt doing so good. They are swamped with work and their CNC stuff, but thatīs no excuse on this order imho. Iīll see what I can do when I get there.

SuperRSi August 2nd 2014 13:38

All good Mark. I am hoping to get stripped and painted this month so forging ahead. I might need your heads for my engine though...will talk when you return from Spa.
