Rob that looks great! love the way it looks with out a dash and just the guages. How much were the seats? They look like what i am looking for.

the seats are about £400 each depending on which material thare made out of.mine are fiberglass/carbon fiber mix and are the cheapest the top of the range carbon/kevlar ones are about £750 each. cheers rob |
That is an awesome bug !
I can't believe all the bodywork you did, that is truly amazing ! Nice wheels too, what are they and what's the size ? What type of shifter do you have in there ? Did you put in those boxed sections besides the transmission 'hole' ? The car looks awesome, although those seat mounts don't look too sturdy  How expensive was that cage by the way ? I checked their website and it looks they only have one for the Super.... Rob. |

all i can say is...
wow  very nice work. and that was alot of welding. when i saw the before i shuddered. it looked like some of our ontario cars usually found in a field. |
well just to let you all know the car is now on the road and legal.will put some more pic's up soon.
even running it in you can feel it is reel quick and just wants to rev. brakes are unreal 944 all round with the 03 master cylinder and new lines all the through and goodridge. cheers [one very happy] rob |
|
did my first sprint a couple of weeks ago,car was pretty good but the handerling was a bit odd.feels great on the road but get it on a track and it all feels a bit soggy.still on the approx 1 mile track was 2 tenths slower than a boxter s so quite happy.should be quicker next time as have set suspension up better and have a set of slicks to go on.
also raced at santa pod 2 weeks ago [rwyb]ran a 14.34@90mph with 1.92 second 60 foot.loads of wheelspin and crossing the lline in 3rd gear. new gearbox ordered with close 3rd and 4th so should be quicker still. cheers rob |
great to here. keep us updated as you get it out there more. what are you going to play with on the suspension to true it up?
|
suspesion wise i am going to set it at 2degreas negativa camber front and rear, droped 1 spline at the rear on 944 bars, front is set to ride just a bit higher than the rear to keep front end loaded for turn in,teo in front and rear only about 25/35 minutes as much negative castor as i can get and of corse the slicks all round 200/605/16 on 7x16 928 rims.
been out for a quick drive with slicks today with the suspension mods and it seems to have cured all my handerling problems :D just got to paint 2 rear wings and o/s front wing, move rear wing down to comply with regulations, build front spoiler and splitter then i'm ready for the next meet. pic of the car before new wheels and suspesion mods http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0.jpg~original will try and get some pic's up soon of the progress and racing when i get some. cheers rob |
