Bug-A-Paluza 2007 Is Coming Up - 4/21-22

Bug-A-Paluza is one of the VKG featured events of 2007 and it is right aronnd the corner - in less than 3 weeks.

The Scenic City Volks Folks in conjunction with Village VW of Chattanooga are proud to present Bug-A-Palüza 9 the weekend of April 21st and 22nd, 2007.

Bug-A-Palüza is one of the largest annual VW gatherings in the region. The turnout is expected to go well over 200 VWs along with thousands of VW owners and enthusiast attending.

With over 30 show classes covering anything from the oldest VWs to the newest and anything in between, if you have a Volkswagen, we’ve got a class it will fit in! If you have a GL VW you will be in good company.

In addition to the show, this event has one of the best swap meets around. From new and used parts to VW toys and memorabilia one of our vendors probably has just what you are looking for.

Are you looking for a good excuse to go camping? There is camping available on the show grounds Friday and Saturday nights! Saturday night we even have a “mini-drive-in theater” for kids of all ages!

There is a kids area with a playground and activities located on the show grounds, tech sessions led by a retired factory trained VW mechanic, music, entertainment, door prizes, and some of the best charcoal grilled burgers and hot dogs around!

You can find more information at: http://www.bugapaluza.com

There will be a group of us heading up Saturday from the Atlanta area - we will provide more details soon.

We hope to see you at the show and enjoying all the festivities of the weekend.

It's almost here! I'll still be there on Sunday.

NO_H2O April 15th 2007 23:53

It look like I will have to pass. I am trying to keep my current project moving along and help Jake with the race car for a Speed TV show. We will be filming the show on 1st-2nd of May in Cordova Ill. and the car is not yet finished. And my partner Kevin (Smiff) broke his leg very badly on Thursday. So DTM Engineering will be a one man show untill Kevin is back on his feet. Ya'll be sure to send some love Kevin's way as he is recovering at home.:agree:

Bug-A-Paluza was a good show - there was a good turn out this year and no mud...
There were a few GL cars, it was good to see Lazarus for the last time with a bic and Wrench was there to give support. We also met up with Pete in his very sharp 56 German Look that drew a lot of interest from organizers and spectators alike!!!

wrenchnride247 April 23rd 2007 11:08

I just read the Chattanooga news paper (here at work), and it said there was 222 show cars this year! It's always good times, when some VKG members get together!

Here's a few pic's of the GL's at the show. Silver '56 split of Pete's, orange '73 SB of Laz, and of course the English bloke with his MassIVe powered yellow '73 Nigel...

Massive Type IV May 13th 2007 13:27

Wrench, thats 2913cc !!

This is the biggest kit we have ever created, I figured Wrench would be the perfect guinea pig being just up the road from us and able to bring the kit down for Dyno work after assembly...

If he has positive results during asembly you can expect this kit to be in the store in the next 18 months or so.... I am basing the lkit from an engine I built in 2002, but it'll use a newer version of the LE 200 heads and a new developed camshaft as well.
