Big Reds on cb dropped BJ spindles
Finally got my setup installed on the passengers side, will do the drivers side this weekend.
I've used cb dropped BJ spindles, bearing spacers, 87 944T hubs, 322x32mm 993TT rotors with adapter hats and custom caliper adapters I designed and had machined by www.vdubcustoms.com. Wilwood 25.4mm MC (f) and 22.22mm MC (r) with bias bar and remote bias adjuster complete the package. The setup looks KILLER ! :D I have one minor problem though ... the crossover tube on the caliper "slightly" rubs up against the lower balljoint. It looks like I just have to flip this tube and I will have enough clearance. Will determine on the weekend though. Pics to follow. Sandeep |
Sounds good. Can't wait for the pics!

yessssss it's beautiful :agree:
It's possible to have photo of pedals and MC???? :D congratulation for this adaptation!!! but the brake pad exceeds disc?no?? Alex |
Very nice set-up you got there. :agree:
I keep telling myself that all I need is some single pot 944 calipers but it's so hard to resist the big reds... |
The third picture is a little deceiving. I fitted the pads and the rotor is about 1mm above the top of the pads, so I have full pad contact.

Very nice setup. I am envious that yours is built and mine isn't. I have a few questions for you that will help me get mine done: 1. How did you go about getting VDubCustons to make those caliper brackets? 2. I have access to alot of CAD programs, which format do they use when drawings are required? 3. How much did they cost to have made? |
nice Sandeep. be sure to send me pics for the gallery (or post them yourself :D).

Just send them an e-mail. I had them make my front brake kit for my beetle. It's the 944-S kit featured on their website. Check out thier website and contact them from their. www.vdubcustoms.com |

Sandeep,
took a look at mine the other day and i see how the nut on the spindle is held on by very few threads. is yours the same? could you take a pic of the "face" of the rotor? or this spindle nut? i'm a little worried of it coming off. later, pete |
 ........ nice setup :D :agree:

Give Lanner a call @ vdubcustoms. He'll set you up and advise as to what he needs.
Pete, I've already greased the bearings and installed the dust cap and the setup is mounted on the bug so can't take pics of the spindle nut. Check the brake galleries and you'll see a pic of my first setup (944T). The hub assembly is the same and I used an aftermarket spindle nut and got all threads on except maybe one ? I found my original spindle nuts and they measure about 4mm thinner than the aftermarket ones, so I used those instead and I get all threads on the spindle nut to engage. Hope that helps. Sandeep |
Here's a pic with the wheel on. The brakes look small  but thats an 18" front wheel ;)
