Hi

They will on the rear, on the front Im not sure, but you would need skinny struts I think.

hey, i've got 7x15 cookies, on early n/a 944 brakes on a 1303, 205 55 front 225 60 rear, 50mm wider front wings, 60mm wide rears and fit well. don't think slim struts would be needed depens on brakes. i've got 1"1/4 coil overs on mine so couldn't say for sure.

i also plan on lowering it 5" will they fit and me still have enough room to turn?

1303R October 24th 2006 14:06

depens what brakes your using? mines on the floor, if you can see avatar. control arms are pointing up slightly, thou is lower than with super suspension cus of differance in stub axle and balljoint. had to remove all the front wheel arch lip, to stop rubbing

bow October 24th 2006 22:04

stock brakes so they will fit?

1303R October 25th 2006 13:58

they'd fit with 50mm wider wings on front no problem. thats if you use same tyres as me. 944 is about 8mm wider? so you'd have little bit more room. my cars about 60mm at the lowest point on car, which is lower arm mounting brackets/stiffners. hope this helps

Hi, mine isnt a super beetle but its a 72 Standard, will 15x7's fit the rear under the fenders?I'm using stock drums and will use adapters since I want to keep the stock bolt pattern just in case I ever want to go back to my other rims. Also what bout the front but with 15x6's, will they fit under the fenders?

Bruce2 July 7th 2007 13:21

It depends on what tire you are planning to use. If you are using a narrow tire, a 7x15 CC will fit if it is bolted directly to the stock IRS brake drum. Adding a wheel adaptor will guarantee it does not fit.

Veedub July 7th 2007 22:52

Well I will not be using and adapter now, Im going to get 5-130 drilled drums for front and rear. The tires going on them will be 195/60's.Will they fit under the fenders?Any rubbing?

Veedub July 9th 2007 18:37

how about 15x7's up front?how much narrowing will i need or can i use fiberglass fenders up front?they'll fit in the rear as im told but the frontend?

This is a really bad idea. A 7x15 wheel and tire is significantly heavier than a stock wheel and tire. You need much more brake than a stock drum can offer. With the incredibly low price of KG type discs, there's no reason to not upgrade.
If you are gonna use a 195/60 on a 7x15 on a torsion bar BJ Beetle with KG discs, you will need at least a 2.5-3" narrowed beam.

I didnt win the 2 bids on the wheels on ebay. But anyway I wasnt going to run 15x7's up front, they were going on the rear.15x6's would have went on the front. So now I may just go 5-205 eventually and get the BTR's 15x4 up front and 15x7 in rear. They will fit under the fenders but the rears will fit barely under them. There 149.95 w/o the beadlocks, which i dont need those. Also to put 15x7 cookies up front, a 5" narrowed beam is needed

Not true. A 7x15 CC has exactly the same offset as a 7x15 Fuchs, and I have those on the front of my car. Beam is chopped 3.75" and if I was to do it all over again, I would go no more than 2.75-3"
