Aircooler engine run/start stand in GTA?
I want to fire up a T1 engine out of the car. Anyone have or know of a engine run/start stand in the GTA?
I want to make sure everything is A-OK before stuffing it in. Pete |
just hook it up to an old tranny on the floor, shade tree that **** man;)

ahhh NO!
Maybe it's time we make one? Who's got pics of what this is supposed to look like? What parts are needed? Who's got what parts to donate to the cause? I can supply and do the wiring, plumbing, and i think i have a stock starter kicking around. Have some 6" heavy duty castor wheels. Have a good battery too. Who can fab up a stand? Chris? Lanner, can Francois(sp?)? Any bus bellhousings around? Guess should have done the part hunting last week at the swap. |

I smell a group project!
I can help with fab/machining. I maay be able to source out a tranny for dirt cheap. I know Lanner has a bitchin' monster tach that didn't sell at the swap, maybe he needs a place to store it! :lmao: Alex |
I have a bellhousing with some dirty wiring on it (household light switch etc..), but it does the trick. Pete, holla if you want to borrow it, it's got a starter and a superbeetle front turn signal housing for the oil idiot light. Add battery and you're good to go. Yup, ghetto fabulous!
I've flirted with the idea of building an engine stand many-a-time, but I can't justify the effort a couple motors a year. Plus, it's more to store, which is a BIG problem for me :) A group build would be cool. Francois would be the man to bend some fancy tube, he loves doing that kind of thing! Lanner |

Do you mind if i start mod'ing it? I'll have it in mind to keep it compact. thanks, Pete |
You can borrow mine as long as it's not a huge amount of time.
Big and heavy though.... |
Pete,
Nelson's is not far from where I work (401/ Mississauga Rd.) I could drop off your thermostat if you want. How about that set of Cima pistons/cylinders ... just sitting here .... with your name on it .. :D Sandeep |
That was a couple days ago, Sunday. :D
Package deal on the pistons/stat? |
Whoops :D
$200 for the pistons/stat. Let me know. Sandeep |
