Great to see your project here in summerised form Paul!
This made me appreciate your work even more as it made more sense to me now. Its otherwise easy to get lost in endless details....:o I also don't wanna know how many grinding disks you've used haha! |
After 3 week doing nothing on the car, I finally started again.
The left crosmember is ready, so it is time to start on the right side. This new version has a 12.9 bolt with a precision hole in the steel plate and uniball, the urethane is extra and not really needed (I think/hope) Cheers, Paul. |

Finally the crosmember is done, When the body is on it's place i will modify the endpieces of the crosmember and probably do the bumb over again.

After I painted the inside and bottom of the channel, I sprayed antirust on it and some inox spray on the welding areas. Now it was time to fit it in it's new position..

Today I cleaned up the firewall that was cut out of a '54. The firewall or innerwings where replaced or repaired in the past, it was not spotwelded but had a lot of welds around the edges. But it came out pretty nice.

After some grinding, bending, drilling and a lot of hammering, the left channel fits properly.
