He is coming back up to speed now. Not machining yet. But will be soon. Contact him to let him know what you need.

Im still around. And still operating to some capacity, doing almost everything except hub machining right now but am trying to get that going again.

What can I say, last couple years have been interesting. The usual life events to keep me busy (move cross country 3600kms, settling into new home, kids etc) coupled with some more serious health issues for myself (back grr) and family (dreaded c-word) has left little time for my glorified hobby business. I like providing interesting products for these old dubs, and will continue to exercise some ideas. It's a 'side' business so I'm just trying to make more time on the side.

My ambitions far exceed my capabilites :)

Good news man!
BTW, I can relate on the 'usual life issues' as well... ;-)

Cool deal man! Life can change a lot of things! Glad you're doing ok even further up north than you were before :D

Hello there, I just sent an email to the address from the vdubengineering website as well, but I was wondering if Lanner is still opporating. If not, any idea where I can get the parts machined for an early 944NA brake set up onto a BJ spindles?

H2OSB August 4th 2018 09:22

He's still around, and will probably see this. Lanner's main issue is time. He does the VdubEngineering stuff on the side. I think he USED to have more time devoted to Vdub-ing, but he's moved to the other side of Canada and life got in the way. If it were up to him, he'd do VW modding full time, but he's got to support his family.

Although he would still do the 944 hub mod, he's come up with a better method of getting Porsche brakes on a Beetle spindle.

Good to hear! I actualy managed to get in contact with him at the end of last week. As for a better way of getting porsche brakes on a beetle spindle, got a link to where I can read up? I didnt see any other options on his website at least

maybe im just not understanding their site, but that doesnt seem to be what I want. As far as I can tell they just have full front brake kits, not conversion kits to use parts you already have (namely the rotors and calipers)

DORIGTT August 17th 2018 01:18

Contact Frank. I had the hubs, rotors and calipers already. They made what I had work for my car.
