911 alternator alternate ?

Just wondered if there was an alternate to the 911 style alternator but still retaining the fan and shroud etc. I thought maybe someone had use a Rabbit one or something like this?

It's from OK-products in Germany and enables you to use a Golf alternator in a standard Porsche fan/ring.
