motor is in and running but i've got no clutch
so i finally got my new motor running and i go to take it for a boot...... and i can't put the car in gear.
it's got a new clutch and pressure plate. if i put in the clutch....... it feels like i did but with no clutch engagement if i shut the motor off, put it in gear and try to start it she lopes ahead even with the clutch pedal depressed. do i need to adjust when installing a new clutch? i would have thought i would have something there. i'm just wondering if i got the wrong pressure plate. the guy i got it from had both a 914 and a super one, and he wasn't 100% sure it was the right one. but it looked identicle to my old one, and when i brought it home it bolted up perfect. well i adjusted the clutch cable from undernaeth (there was quit a bit of slack) i go inside to see how the clutch is and the pedal won't move. can you guys think of anything that might be causing this problem? thanks jeff |
bad pressure plate and also on closer inspection my clutch plate had rusted to my flywheel.
ffs. just picked up a new pressure plate and resurfaceing the flywheel now also cleaning up the clutch plate. |
