mounting 996 disks to oval window- short axle box emergency brake??

hi guys, i have full set of disks and calipers from a 3.3s boxster........

just going to turn down stock disks and drums in porsche pattern and use them as a hub.......

my question...........how do i utilise the rear hand brake mechanism that works inside the rear drum.....

surely i need some sort of round 'raised' area where the shoes can sit over like on th real car- although this is part of the end of the arm casting i think

I did it by using 944 internals/handbrake mechanism on the IRS arm and a 1986 944 turbo rear disc as it's the same size as the 996 disc..

You need a mix of 944 parts and 924T parts:

Early (83-85) 944 hubs (change long studs to short ones from 86+ rear 944 hubs). If you are shortaxle, then machine 16mm off the front of the hub.

924T backingplates (made of steel not aluminum like the 944 ones) These backinplates allow you to use your stock swingaxle bearing caps with the oil slinger so you have no oil leaking problems.

Early (83-85) 944 ebrake mechanism/shoes etc..

86T 944 rear disk or Boxster S rear disk

axial to radial caliper adaptors
