Germanlook and Diesel motors

Since this is off topic, figured I would put this out here..

I was looking over at the subaru forum, NASIOC, and came across a thread regarding the forester and impreza to receive diesels in the european market.. That got me thinking, that maybe in a few years they will be available in the US, or at least as a EDM import..

So maybe a Germanlook Superbeetle with diesel power is not to far fetched..
Thoughts?

Just some random thinking going on these motors..

110 kW (150 PS)/3600 rpm (Impreza 2.0D)

- CO2 emissions: 167 g/km (Forester 2.0D), 152 g/km (Impreza 2.0D)

The idea of putting this into a bug was the first thing I thought of when i found out they were going to make one. :)

Hi

I thought about this when I saw this mentioned in the press, the torque would be hard on transmissions.

Diesels are great, the one thing that puts me off is spilt diesel all over the floor so that your shoes end up dirty and slippery and the greasy handle at the browser, you feel like you need a shower after filling up.

You should see the TV ad "Subaru has been here.... and here ...... and here ........... etc etc etc, but never HERE"

"here" = some rally track in the mountains
"here" = some rally track on the road
etc etc etc = you get the idea.... basically all rally tracks,

"but never HERE" = then you see a Diesel pump at a garage, in then in about 3 seconds or so... a new Subaru rolls up to fill up......

Good ad actaully, hehe. And of course I was thinking "About bloody time they have done it!!! In a BOXER!! Cool.
