Euro Auto Fest Oct 15-16

I have registered online. Who is going to make this one? VW is the Mark Car this year.

wrenchnride247 August 20th 2010 20:21

I'll try and be there, but will be VW'less (as always  ) Will be in S.C. in a few weeks to talk with the guy (face to face) I'm trying to get my other VW from, and see what happens (not gonna hold my breath though) Man he is a PITA!

Lazarus September 19th 2010 14:03

i think its about time for roll call. so who is in?

NO_H2O September 21st 2010 10:40

You and me are in. I hope that Zen can get his transaxle back with the right R/P in time to pull it off. Also hope that Nigel can make it.

zen September 30th 2010 17:08

I should be in thanks to Dave and Danny. Registered and trying to get the car back together. Bad news on the tranny. Will be next week at best before I get it back. I will come either way. It is just a question of is it in my car or riding in my Dad's...which is never a bad day either.

Will post some pics elsewhere of the changes coming.

good to see you guys are coming. i hope quasi makes the trip. im planning on having an impromptu get together @ my house after if you guys are interested. its going to be a brats and beer event. i provide the brats ,b.y.o.b. let me know if any of you are planning to attend.

NO_H2O October 1st 2010 09:14

I'm in for beer and brats. We might even have Dave Worrell in with us. Herbie X is in the shake down phaze and should be ready for him to pick up. He might be able to fly in to ATL on Friday the 15th and run up to the show with us on the 16th. Then drive home to LA. after.

Lazarus October 1st 2010 10:29

that is great! if anyone needs to crash @ my place the kids are going to the grandparents so we will have 2 extra bedrooms as well as the bonus room, so we will have plenty of space.

NO_H2O October 5th 2010 20:31

I talked to Bert today. He and his wife will be going and they will be up for some Brats and Brews after the show.

zen October 5th 2010 20:57

Very cool idea. I will be a last minute decision on the after party. Just depends how late things run. I have to fly out to CHI for the week the next day and don't want to cut the family too short of time. Let's get outta the show at a decent time. ;0)

Lazarus October 9th 2010 23:40

so whats up whos coming over to the house? right now i got Dave, his wife, bert, his wife. are these for sure? do you guys need pillows?

NO_H2O October 11th 2010 08:44

Yes, 4 pillows please. Bert, Rhonda, Nancy and I.

Lazarus October 11th 2010 10:12

confirmed! reservation for 4. would you like the optional turn down service? pretty soon i will have to turn the no vacancy sign.

wrenchnride247 October 11th 2010 21:15

Sorry, no pillow for me. :(

That depends on Nigel... I'm driving his '73 up so he can bring the T34 Ghia also. So I will be there in a VW... just not mine (or the one I hoped to get last month)

zen October 13th 2010 13:54

Just to confirm, I am out for the afterparty. :( Have to get home for my daughter's Homecoming Dance and spend some time with the family since I am leaving town for the week and have neglected them for the past few weekends working on the car.

zen October 13th 2010 14:03

How does everyone feel about meeting up at Discover Mills parking lot (I-85 and Sugarloaf) at 6:15? If that works, we would make one stop at Jefferson City to have another bug (Steve Gurr and his '62 stocker, friend of my Dad) join up as well. If not, the two of them are covering each other and I ride with the VKG. That puts us up there 8:00-8:30 I believe. I am up for just about anytime though, so you Southsiders let me know what is realistic for you.

Here is what I know of for the caravan:
Me in mine
My Dad in his
Dave and wife
Bert and wife
Nigel in the Ghia
Danny in Nigel's bug
Haven't heard back from Kat, but she is going up Friday night or Sat morning

zen October 13th 2010 15:54

Forecast is sunny 42/73. Woohoo.

NO_H2O October 13th 2010 15:55

See you at Discover Mills. I have told Bert about the meeting place and time.

Andrew and I are planning to be at the show but will probably not make your house Laz....may be a late decision but not sure, I also have to fly out of town on Sunday for the week.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the show.

Lazarus October 13th 2010 22:34

Had a blast this year! Driving Nigel's '73 T4 powered T1 was great! Took lots of pix, but will just post a few. This is a VERY large show, and takes quite some time to make the rounds. I highly recommend this show!

Any one want 21's

Thanks again to Nigel for letting me crash at his place. And, letting me drive his T1 to the show so he could have his Ghia there also, and putting up with my smart a$$ nature. :lmao: Plus, his awsome son Andrew for putting up with me. They are great hosts.

It was a great show, great weather, great friends. Love this show. Lots of VW's came out and overflowed the "Mark Car" area. It is hard to see everything at this show in detail and you will see a very wide selection of cool cars.
I need to get my pix downloaded and sorted.

NO_H2O October 17th 2010 19:07

The cruise to Laz's place was cool. Several VW's took the back roads to Tony's place for a nice cook-out/party. It was nice to chill and crash there. Thanks to our great hosts. We got a lazy start on the day and had a good trip home.

zen October 17th 2010 21:30

I had a blast. I love that show. Biggest car count again this year. Perfect weather too.

Thanks again to all my buds for helping me get there...with my car. Couldn't have done it without you. The wife especially thanks you. She was so happy to have me back out on the road with it.

Got a flyer for Spring Jam up in Knoxville next....spring. Might be a fun trip.

Lazarus October 18th 2010 18:56

thanks, the cruise up parallel with the N.C mountains was really cool. thanks to trevor and P.A. it was their idea. also big thanks to the wives especially mine for the planning and hard work.

NO_H2O October 20th 2010 04:08
