Finished the brake install today - then test fitted the rims.

And yes ....I went against judgment and went with drilled rotors :p

I figured the car is driven less than 3000 miles a year and I bought (supposedly) good ceramic pads so hopefully the dusting won't be too bad...

Overheating isn't the issue though.

I've heard (from a couple different sources - and researching on the web) that drilled rotors can lead to excessive production of brake dust.
Not particularly good for your nice new rims - also - can just make a big mess on the side of the car etc. if it's really bad.

I pretty much drive the car only to shows etc. - so I'll just keep my handy dandy duster brush with me at all times.

Also - sources have said that a good set of ceramic brake pads can help diminish the dusting.

Wheels are a little too much bling for my taste, but the type fits the cars very well.

The drilling just helps stop the pads from glazing by inducing a bit more wear on the pads. They won't help with temperatures, in fact it will probably make them run hotter due to the lost mass. You're right about the ceramic pads though, they are for low dust...

I put it all together and dropped it on the ground today...first time the car has been on 4 wheels on cement in 3 years !

Still need to bleed the brakes etc etc....but it was exciting to see everything fit.

The "bling-ish-ness" of the chromed rims seems to have been tamed down with the tires on and and the chrome trim on the car.
