Stainless Steel Headers

Hi everyone. Will like to know if the Stainless Steel headers increases the heads temperature? Headers helps
shedding heat from the engine but had heard that stainlees steel ones are not good at that. Is it true?
Any experiences on our aircooled engines?
Thanks:)

Don't know if this will help or not bonilla... but stainless melts at a lower temp than carbon steel. So, it will heat up faster. I think the routing (sharp bends and/or pipe close to head) of the header would impact head temps more than what material its made of.

Stainless has a lower melting point but is less thermoly conductive, it will heat up slower. For this application it's moot... The thickness of the header will have more effect on the time in which it heats up or cools off.
But I agree with the above, bends near the heads tend to get hotter faster.
Coat them and they hold the heat in much better, last longer too.

Check turbothomas: I am going to get custom header from him.

Thanks Alex! That link it is very interesting and could be very usefull for another project. I ended buying the CB Performance SS header. Had not tried yet, but surelly it looks to be very well done!:)
