diffuser/venturi

anyone on here using a diffuser to get down force on a beetle? i'm thinking about getting high speed grip and don't want to have a big rear wing. i thought about a rear diffuser but there's not much room with the exhaust and engine in the way, may be enough if i use the space under bumper as well. or a venturi in front of the rear wheels? anyone done/doing/thinking bout this or am i wasting my time? cheers :driving:

If you could completely flatten off the rear area under the engine and gearbox, it would probobly work well.. However its all pointless without something near the back window to break the laminar air flow, otherwise you are just compensating for the lift the rear of a bug creates.

hi, yeh i do like the idea of the small roof spoiler to break up the flow of air over the car. but i only know of one place in the uk that sells em and i don't wanna get anything from them! i do keep an eye out for other modern cars that may fit but not seen anything yet. may well make my own up out of fibreglass and carbon. i have a webasto style roof and that must help some to disrupt the flow thou for all i know may well be making it worse!
