Drysump Tank location? Where is yours?

I am debating where to put drysump tank, but i would prefer it near engine, and i have spare tire (allthough 996 one) and normal fuel tank on my 1300 std beetle.

Where is your tank? I'v seen that most put it under front hood or under rear window to inside cabin, but my painter did not recommend, because if the car is involved in a collision, inside mounted tank's hoses may get torn apart possibly..

I'v been thinking put it near transaxle or above to under rear window. There is little room at near transaxle because there is 5-bar coilover support, but custom tank could work. I have now this tank from demontweeks:

I don't like the flange-mounted tanks due to the increased chances of mounting failure during a collision or off-track excursion. I prefer tanks that mount with wrap-around straps and secure mounting system. Other than that consideration, I'm not worried about my interior-mounted tank. I don't recall the line strength on the Russell lines/fittings, but properly assembled flex lines shouldn't be a serious issue. Well, relative to the type of impact. Anything that breaks my tank loose / tears oil lines in my car, probably killed me as a result. We're not talking about the safest of vehicles here!

The only reason I wouldn't mount the oil tank inside my car on the next build is heat. It's quite toasty on a hot summer day!
