Brake Caliper Question

This a pic i took from my newly bought porsche calipers. They came of a 996 Turbo. Look like Big Reds, but the cooling fins confuse me. Has anybody seen these before?

Hello,

These are not Big Reds. They are so-called 917 calipers from an old 930 (911 Turbo) and painted red. I probably spoiled your day, sorry 'bout that :(
But, they are four-piston and you can probably fit them inside a 15" Fuchs when using a brakedisc smaller than 304mm.

Cheers,
Richard

Don't worry man. you didn't spoil my day. I know they are good, since the porsche they were fitted to is highly modified. Im planing on using them along with a transporter m/c (the one without the servo). if the ressure isn't enought i will propab;y fit a tilton assembly

Thanx anyway

If the seller said they came of a 996 turbo, he has to have been lying, can't see why anyone would downgrade their brakes

But still, their way cool for a beetle  I cannot really see a reason in fitting big reds to a beetle anyways. It's way overkill in my opinion.
