Adjusting Throttle pedal

Is it possible to adjust the Throttle Pedal on a 1970 Standard ?
I need it to go further down, because it doesn't open the throttle valve of the Sube completely..

I checked the manual, but can't find anything on the pedal in there.

Thanks,

Rob.

That way you don't need to worry about getting speeding
tickets and thus prolong your cash flow and engine life !!
Actually you will like need to fabricate a small butterfly type
unit that would be pulled by the VW throttle pedal and then
higher up on the top side of the (butterfly) it would pull on
the Suby throttle linkage. Sorry no scanner otherwise I would
draw you something. Otherwise call me at the office number
and give me a faxc number and I will try to fax you something.

PS Have not seen you at the club meetings lately and could
show off my 72 Super which is now on the road.

I wonder if you could lengthen the part of the pedal that the cable hooks to to get the leverage ratio you need. Might be easier than making linkage for the engine.

I've looked at it and it seems there is a stop limiting the travel of the pedal.

Alan, I know what you mean....I've been thinking along the same ways, but I'd figured I try the easy way first ;)

I might be able to make the next meeting, I've been really busy with work, that's why I haven't been to the meets... Would love you see the bug though.

I think you mis-understood what I was trying to describe. If you move the cable attachment point higher on the pedal roller pivot it will travel farther even if the pedal still only moves the same amount. You might be able to weld a little washer on to the roller part of the pedal just above where the cable normally attaches. Does that makes sence or is it just me. :agree:

BoyGenius,

Ah, now I see what you mean. Good Idea, I'll take a look at it.

Rob.
