BMW look-a-like ANGEL EYE headlights!

i bought these ANGEL eyes headlights for my car. they are made to look like the late model BMW lights. they are for water cooled vws and any other car that has a 7 inch round headlight. so i thought .."hey i have a 7 inch headlight! i'll slap them in too!" they illuminate the road alot better since the glass is alot clearer than my other H-4 housing that was all fluted and blurry. here are some night shots of them. i apologize for the crappy qualty cause i took these with a camcorder. the digi- cam was at my sisters house :(
but anyhow they are pics none the less. they will also house my soon to be installed HIDS! cant wait till those are put in. i will be able to see EVERYTHING with those

most pics are with the headlights OFF. except the 2nd one and last pic . ill be taking better pics when i get my digi-cam back.

RACELOOK,
as much as I'd like to say that they went right without any mods, I can't :)
the back housing of the headlight assemby that holds the headlight in place required some cutting out to make room for the 2 light plugs for the angel eyes (no cutting had to be done to the headlight housing in the fender). then i had to just wire in the angel eyes power and ground and i hooked it up to a seperate switch so i can turn it off or on whenever I want . only should take about an hour to do it cleanly but i had to get rid of some old wires from past projects to make it easy to wire up. ill make a tech article if anyone wants to know how to put them in if they ever get them. they are very inexpensive and give the headlights a new CLEAR look.

Knock together an article and some photos (of the bits you had to mess with). Submit it for others to use and it COULD win you a prize at the mo! :D

Make sure to wire them correctly with the right amp fuses and relays... seen a few watercooleds burnt to the ground in the past.

i found some angel projectors that are similar and they're 7" too off a 944. so will these fit on a 79 beetle?

Phat73VW May 17th 2007 03:14

from the pics you provided in the other thread on HID's, the headlights you found will indeed fit your headlight assembly and may only require a trim here or there on the actual metal housing. Its hard to explain but once you attempt to install them you will know what I mean. It will only require a snip here and a snip there. No real headache. I say about 10 minutes with some metal cutters!;)

i used them in the buckets on my 59 and they dropped right in no mods powder coated the buckets and trim rings and such got one done so far they take so long to assemble i havent gotten to the other one yet
