Wilwood reverse mount pedal assembly in a SB
 
Hello guys,

I'm currently thinking about a new pedal assembly for my 1302 GL project.
The idea is take benefit of an hydraulic clutch and a double master-cylinder brake device. I would like to know if some one already mounted/experienced the wilwood reverse mount pedal assembly such as this one

This is what I did:

Let there be brakes...

I would use these MC instead though, less mess, size, and plumbing to deal with.

or you could do this to the same effect, up to you if its hydraulic clutch or dual brake cylinders though...

theres pics on avd forums somewhere fo someone using a floor mount tilton pedal box, or it might be on beetleracing/vforce website


couldnt agree more on the wilwood compacts though, they made my clutch possible! (really have to finish those pedals off though!)

I like the floor mounted ones with pull cylinders as:

It should not be out of the question to fabricate your own version using AP's pull cylinders and trunnion balance bar. (AP do actually provide a download of full tech drawings for the unit!). The floor will have to be raised/overlaid by 2" (50mm) but as I have proved this is a distinct advantage for pedal control and comfort even with the standard pedals. If you are fabricating it then a modular approach could be employed retaining the cable clutch for a future substitution but the throttle pedal as well as the brake pedal would have to be changed to accommodate the raised floor. The resevoirs could be sited anywhere convenient.

I really like the floor mount stuff, just pricey if you actually buy the AP stuff. Mine was simple enough and very cheap in comparison, but if I did it again I would look more closely at the floor mount stuff, a 2" rise would make for a good driving position and really good access to the cylinders.
