How do you guys running glass fenders install the early headlights?

Do you have any pics?

dont they just buy glass fenders made for early lights?

I know CCC makes early fenders for standards and late fenders
for supers (but they are 3" wider then stock)

I think Kersher or Hoff Speedster in Germany has early light fenders
for Supers that are stock width..

Is this for a Super or Standard Pete?

Hi

My fenders came with the early headlight buckets. The fender in the photos looks like a standard bug style. If it is for standard bug you can fit early Beetle fenders.

I assume you mean about the actual hardware needed for them to stay in place?????

Pete,

It looks like you are missing a tab in the bucket. Here is a pic of my fender.

You need to make a tab out of aluminum and rivet to your bucket at the top, and then drill a hole in the fender at the bottom to pass a bolt through to secure the headlight.

You can take better pictures when you come and pick up the 18x10 ... I'll pull my headight apart ... its only one bolt.

Look like poorly made 'glass fenders.
no rolled lip and incomplete headlight buckets.
Are they hand laid or chopper gun?
there are pics on CCC's site of the headlight buckets

Hi

Rather than drill a hole in the fender for the early bug headlight rim I used complete 911 headlights, these attach the same at the top, but on the bottom the screw goes through the headlight rim, almost like a late bug headlight.

Sorry i didn't get back to this sooner, i've been busy shovelling snow all day!

I meant the hardware. These are early carbon fenders. Didn't know how to mount the headlights. So, i need to make a "lip" for the top, which the headlight hooks on? Then drill and bolt them up on the bottom?

Steve, do you have a pic of the early 911 headlight?

Sandeep, i don't think i'll be picking up the rim. Your 46mm offet is not deep enough on the inside. I did some math and i feel i can make it work. It's going to be 18x10 ET65 under a 1.5" wider rear fender.

My old speedster rep had the top 'lip' made of a piece of metal which was screwed up inside the top of the bucket, then a threaded insert at the bottom.
