Drill bit size

Anyone know what size drill bit is needed to drill the hole in my rotors and drums. I plan on putting 14mm press in studs.

14mm should be around .5000 inches or 1/2 or 31/64 should be close..

I assume you are tapping.. what size thread 1.25 or 1.5 as they call out different size drill bits..

Plenty of tables on the web, as FYI, but it comes down to whether its 14mm* 1.25 or 14mm * 1.5..

Not an answer but should get you closer.. http://www.korit.com/tapndrill.htm

I am gonna use press-in studs. I heard they were safer and I already have tuner lugs that fit my rims. I have access to a CNC milling machine and I already made a quick sketch of what I want on my Solid Works program. :D

My only problem now is trying to find some blank rear drums for a '73 1303. I was gonna try to use the old rotors and drums, but I can't seem to find a spot where the 108mm 5 bolt pattern ( I accidentally got the wrong bolt pattern on ebay) doesn't colide with the stock 130mm 4 bolt pattern.

I guess I dont need to buy new rotors and drums, it turns out my tuner lugs are 12 x 1.5 mm. So it turns out i have enough clearance to drill a 5 hole bolt pattern in my existing brakes. So now I have to figure out what drill bit is needed for the 12 x 1.5 mm press in studs.

also.......... offset every other hole pattern, you need full coverage over the brake pad area

According to product detail shown on Aircooled.net, drill out the lug holes to 9/16" and then drill to 37/64"

That's for the 14mm studs they're selling, not for 12mm he's asking about.
