Need Help 944 Front Brakes
 

Need help, purchased 944 front spindles from a 87 non turbo. Can't seem to figure out how to remove outside pad.. :confused:

Have the spindle off the car. Took out all the pins, clips and got inside pad out... Should I use a C Clap somewhere to try to remove the outside one... Can't seem to pry or figure this out..
Looked online but they don't mention much.. Don't have a 944 Manaul yet.. Will be getting soon.. In the mean time can anyone help.. This is going on a 78 vert..

Also how do you tell the difference between spindles that fits and those that don't on a 1303. My spindle looks the same as a vw.. Haven't tried to install as weather hasn't been favorable.. It looks like the VW one .. 2 bolts for the struts.. How do they differ from 86.. Won't these fit with kesher balljoints.. I am also having problems determing the difference.. From looking at the rear trailing arm I believe they were off an 87, they (trailing arms) are dated 2/87.. Want to use these up front, any suggestions..

I am having problem dismantling my front brake assembly off a 87 non turbo 944..(This is still in question, but based on the trailing arm stamping of 87 and having single piston on Calipers would have to assume non-turbo).. If anyone has had experience with this, I would appreciate some help..
I was able to remove all the safety pins and take out the inside (Inboard) Pad.. I am having difficulty getting the piston to open up enough to properly get the outside (outboard) pad off..

Looked thru the web but all they talk about is sticking a prying bar between back of pad.. I looked at my caliper set up and felt that I probably do more damage this way..

There different ways to get the pisotn back in the caliper.
Some just unbolt the caliper vent and then push the piston gently back in and other calipers use a special tool which basically turns the piston back into the caliper. not sure which one would apply for the Porsche caliper. I am not even sure if there are other options with other calipers.

I will try to buy the haynes book or ask a service guy.. Only thing is, the one time I went to a service place for Porsche they act so Snooty.. Pisses me off.. All I want is some help.. Maybe one day I will own a real porsche.. For now I will stick to building a poor mans porsche.. Hell it aint that cheap.
