I know I'm waaaaaayyyy too late, but I've seen this add on thesamba.com from http://www.type4parts.com/cat_type_1_cylinder.cfm. These are liquid cooled heads for type 1 and TIV. Does anybody know about them?

Just put in a Suby engine if you want a damn radiator...

Suby motors are cheaper, more powerful, same weight (my EJ20TT I recieved last week with all of the emissions crap, A/C, power steering pump, stock header, both turbos, and intercooler, weigh 268 lbs total with the pallet!), more reliable and fuel injected. 400 hp on a stock EJ20T which you can get for $650 from Nippon-motors.com. Overall better design, 4 cams. Don't get me wrong, but the subaru motor is a superior design only because technology has advanced so much since the 1200 40 horse motor.
Subaru "borrowed" a huge amount of technology from the crazy smart germans. |
Any body know more about that vendor...
I saw he had an inexpensive type iv shroud thingy.. that leveraged/looked like the Joe Cali. concept.. looked interesting for a few hundered bucks, if you were not going mega power.. but not sure on how it performed.. Alex |
jake i only started the post to see if anyone else was interested in such a venture. About putting a subby engine in my bug that's not an option it would create too many problems with conversion.
