What year 944 Brakes?
 

Im going to a Porsche show/swap in about a week. Now, I am going to be on the hunt for 944 aluminum trailing arms and brakes to match, if I can find them. Now, the big question is this: is there a specific year(s) that will NOT work with my 72 super?

As I mention above.. No expert but going thru the same...
As far as trailing arm goes.. I think most years will work.. I got 87 but haven't put them on yet... Years/Models that have Alum will widen track..
For the Front this one is tricky.. From others who have helped and given me advice.. As far as 944's go.. go with 83-85.. these have the right config to merry up to a 1303 suspension arm..
I bought 87's (87 on..)and it has been a hasle finding struts.. Ended up getting 84 spindles and hubs to mate my calipers to.. 86 is good but no hole for speedo.. (this is what i was told..) This was for non turbo models..
Now I am waiting for the mail man to come..

All of them will work but the track increase is less with 85 924S ones or 86 944 Turbos. I was told that mine are actually of a 924S but the part number is a 951....so I do not know how reliable the 924 info is.

It is easy to identify the later ones.....87 and up. The disk has a big offset and if it does not have the disk on the hub with the studs does not sit flat on the aluminum arm. It looks like a cone. That is were the increased track width comes from.

alex, my alloy arms are off a 924s, i removed them myself and they also start with 951 on the first part of the part number.

Porsche made 2 arms, known as early or late. They have several different part numbers, even for the same part. The 924S has the same arms as the "early" 944 arms. I have pic and will try and find and post...

Supe those measurements you gave include the brakes too, dont they?
