Engine Spacer question
Hello
If I were to put a 82mm crank in with 94mm B Mahle/Cima Pistons and 5.5in rods, would I need cylinder spacers? If so what should i do, lower the crank size or shorten the rods? I'm asking this because the exhaust that I want to use isnt made for wider than stock engines. Thanks Clint |
I would buy a different exhaust, it's cheaper than a different crank or rods. Going with shorter rods will increase the side loading on your pistons, increasing wear. Shorter stroke will cost you torque. Your choice, it's all comprmise.

i'm in the process of building a 82x94mm type1 with 5.5 rods & stroker pistons. I am expecting it to be very close to stock in overall width.

Allright!
Hello
Thanks Hot66 for your reply! And when you do finish your engine please inform me if you needed to use any spacers! Hopefully not because I wanted to put that turbo kit on but the exhaust isn't adjustable. Oh well Thanks Clint |
