Used T4 vs New T1
 

I have recently located a T4 engine that was from a 73' 412. It is in fairly good shape and has 80,000mi on it. I was wondering what size it is? Also, and I'm sure you've heard this a lot, I was planing on building a 1915 T1 turbo/efi motor to mate to the porsche 5speed in my bug. Would a stock T4 with turbo/efi be able to out do the T1? I would like to get a fair amount of horsepower while retaining a decent lifespan. Which would be a better bet?

ps. about how many miles can a t4 go before a rebuild and how expensive is it?

The main use for the engine would be high speed trips some for long distance. I would like something that could sustain 90mph. I could also envision very occasional track time.
