front shocks - koni's, spax or bilsteins?
thinking about buying some front shocks to suit a beam front suspension, slightly lowered & dropped spindles.
koni's spax bilsteins |
I voted Koni b/c I've had good luck with them. Bilsteins adjust themselves though and are bombproof. Either one, you'll be fine. Spax... Yuk.

matt, you running Koni reds then? I'm very interested in peoples opinions of the shocks they are using

I voted Koni. The Bilsteins are as good or even better shocks....but they have a problem:
They actually push up the car and it will not look as low anymore. When you compress a Bilstein the shock comes back up. The Koni does not. So when the car is not moving you will find that it is not as low as when you are driving. My friend had the problem in the 90s with his fronts and I had the same problem with my New Beetle. Alex |
how about KYB's?
