Without rear torsion.

Anyone out there using uniball setup with rear coilovers on 944 aluminium trailing arms without the torsion bars? Is the setup good? Any disadvantage? I am about to do this conversion. Would appreciate the help.:)

I am doing something similar but just collecting parts right now so I don't have any working knowledge.
1.5" narrowed tubular arms w/springplate mount relocated 1.5" inboard . (being made)
QA1 Promastar coil overs. (have these).
tubular adjustable torsion plate replacement bar with poly rod end. (have these)

I have this setup but my car is not running so I can not comment.

As far as install and adjustability goes.......it is easy and simple.

Thanks guys for the reply! Is it an option or is it a must to use the 3 piece torquebar with the setup? What are the anti-roll bars you guys are using with the 944 alu. trailing arm?:)

I would call the torque bar a must . You definately need to strenghten that upper shock tower since it will carry all the weight of the vehicle and I'm sure your plans call for horsepower too!!! Triangulation of this area solves both problems.
My setup uses all custom parts so an off the shelf sway won't fit. I'm gonna hold off till it's all together and fab up a custom unit.

rear coilovers

A firm called Remmele has a beautiful setup for the rear. It's about 700 euro overhere in Europe. As the dollar is low on this moment I guess that it costs +- $ 700 + and shipping. The kit contains al the hardware and you don't have to cut in your car. An other advantage is that the normal shocks will not bold to the alloy arms because at the bottom the porsche bolt is M 14 as for the beetle M12. Further more is the beetle shock a little out of line when bolted to the alloy arms. The setup from Remmele does not have this problem because it has unibal connections.
