944 front disks
Hi guys, im new to the forum-its nice in here :)
iv been looking for info on fitting some 944s (thats the turbo right?) front disks and calipers on my '72 standard beetle...searching the forum has left me a bit confused, so i was wondering if someone could giv me a clear list of what i will need to aquire/make. Thanks Andy |
I think there is a tech article that talks about it
|
The 944 S has the same type brakes as the regular 944. The 944 S2 has the 944 Turbo type brakes.
Look at the tech articles on this site for install info. |
If I remember correctly Sandeep has post a very good detailed installtion atricle ?
968 has same brakes too (4 piston Brembo)... |
Yea the 968 has the same brakes as the early 944 Turbo and 944 S2 but the late 944 Turbo (89-91), 944 Turbo S (88) and 968 Turbo S have even bigger brakes.
Then there are all the 986/911/964/etc. brakes but Jim can tell about those. Oh yea, and the 928 generally used the same brakes as the 944. |
sorry to steal the thread
BUT do front 944 turbo brakes increase the track on the front of a standard bug??? was looking on ricolas site and he says no, but just wanted confirmation. cheers Adam |
It depends on how you machine the hub to fit on the spindle. In my article, I didn't machine the hub and the track increase per side with stock spindles is about 10mm.
