Air cooling.. whats the best place??

Hello guys!!

I'm thinking of making a scoop, airduct in the roof of my bug. ANd I was planning to make a flexibel tube on the airduct so that the air is going to the engine..

*But was is the best place to let the air into the enginebay (so do you write it ???)... *

I already have that Remmele kind of airducts in the sides .. that air is going to the double carburators..(which i dont have yet).. is there still another place what would have profit of the air from the scoop on the roof, or can i better get the air from the scoop also to the carburatos.

I still have my original 1600 cc motor but that will be changed in the (far) future to a faster one. Till that time the duct wil be closed or almost closed or i direction the air from the engine so that the engine is not going to overcool.. I think thats the best, not??

I hope someone can help me farther with this...

Thnx in advance

i'm going for the same duct on the roof
(ala subaru rally car)
but mine is for cooling the interior.

i wouuld go to either side or the rear window. there is the space behind the rear quarter windows that leads to the side vents

Hi,

I didn't want to cut into the lines of my bug so I put 2 scoops under the car with 4" ducting per scoop to my interior oil cooler.

Only problem I see is the ducts pick up small sand particles occasionally and blow them through the oil cooler fins. This is probably because I drive through a construction area on the way to work, but is not a problem on the highways.

Just offering an alternative.
