Shipping questions on engines
 

Looking to possibly buy a Type Iv off a 914 from the westcoast..

Only problem is I am ignorant when it comes to crate shipping.. I assume It can't shipped UPS so curious as to what companies and approximately how much to ship a longblock 1.8 lt..

This would be shipped from Ca to NJ

Any input is helpful and appreciated..

I just looked into shipping an engine from Canada to Cali. (I know it doesn't make sense, the deal tanked anyway).
UPS will only ship upto 150 Lbs.
If you can ship through a company, then you can use UPS freight.
If not, then you are probably looking at having it shipped by a local trucking company ($$$).

To give you an idea: having my engine shipped to Cali would have been US$ 500 :eek:
