091 gearing question
 

My buddy has a beetle with a 6-rib, I think, type 2 tranny. He is running a DTM conversion on a type IV with some cam work and I believe stock bore and stroke.

My question is: What ring and pinion would best suit this car. He said it winds out to fast now and he wants it to run faster and have a lower RPM when cruising.

Any help will be appreciated since I have no idea about gear ratios.
