Urethane tie od boots
i ripped a tie rod boot while removing the left tie rod during my brake conversion. so i bought the urethane replacements. not as easy as i thought. anyone have any tips for putting that spring retainer that holds the boot on back into place? i am about to throw it across the garage.

no one?
i am beginning to wonder if these even use the same clip. they are not tapered/recessed on the wide side like rubber tie rod boots to accomidate the clip. is it possible that they rely on the compression to seal? i am about ready to just order a replacement tie rod end to not have to deal with it. |
Who made them? Maybe you can email their Tech dept. If they are stiff enough they might not need a clip.

i think BupPack. will check tonight. good (and obvious) point.

from BugPack:
The "BUGPACK" tie rod boots use the tension of the material to fit over the tie rod large end and do not have clips or wires. See attached photo. Fred mine when under tension push further over the tie rod end, but still seems to seal OK. just wasn't real confident it was right. but good news. i attached their photo. |
how are they holding up?
I got the total kit but also need new tie rods, so now I have both. I actually wanted to see what you meant sooo... the urethanes are on there. Is there any reason to put the stock ones back on? Thanks |
