Uberbus needs swaybars...
 

Everything is sorting out well. Passengers have been impressed with the ride (NOT stiff enough for me :D ). I think swaybars are definately the missing link though. It has some body roll and sways would be the key. I've just got to get some measurements and do a little head scratching...

You mean there are parts you can buy that "bolt right on" ??? :eek:

The front is easy to figure, I was just gonna set it up the same way it is on my oval. Parallel with the lower tube of the beam and then turning and running parallel with the lower control arm with my own custom bracketry of course... :D
The rear ... well, I've never seen an IRS rear sway bar so I don't even know how they normally do it (like I would do it normally). I was guessing that I could do something very similar to the front... run the bar across under the front of the tranny, parallel with the front pivot points on the arms and then turn and parallel the lower bar on my arms???
If I'm waaayyy off base here, pleeeaase don't hesitate to shake your head and then tell me what to do.

I have a type 1 rear sway bar that I'm not using. The mounting brackets are cut up but I still have all of the hardware. I'll take some measurments if you are interested. 5/8" I think...

They are usually bolted in where the spring plate meets the trailing arm. :)

Thanks BG! I don't think the measurements will transfer to my bus chassis since it's soooo different but I appreciate the offer. You've already helped a ton by posting pics of your setup. At least I know where to start.
5/8" ??? Man, I was thinkin' 1 1/4" for the bus! :D

need pics of how the 944 swaybars mount? i have them in my shop manual.

No problem. If you don't want it and I can't sell it maybe I will make a bow and arrow set with it. :laugh:

Thanks guys! Because my arms and suspension are so different, nothing stock is gonna come close. I've been looking at different race set-up pics in some of my Excellence mags... I think I've got some simple ideas that will work. The guy that bends my tubing is a fabrication Einstien, builds a lot of race chassis stuff that is waaayy over the top. I'm gonna bounce it off him and see what I can get away with.
