225's up front?

i just bought a set of 4 phone dials for my super. i plan on getting disc brakes all the way arround or maybe just up front and get a set of blank drums for the rear. I put the wheels up to the front brakes and they hit the spring on the inside. will 225's fit without any spacers if i buy the topline struts?

I don't know about the front. Mostly 205 and the occasional 215. They should work in the rear though.

Also how wide are phone dials? There are guys here with more experience with supers than I. But I'm pretty sure the thinner springs are a must for anything larger than a 7" rim. And I don't know if I'd run a 225 on anything to much smaller.

Good luck

agree. 205 is the size of choice for most. your phone dials shouldn't be any wider than 7" which a 205 will be fine on. i am not certain, but doubt you can get a 225 on there. the super guys will jump on here and confirm though.

well i already got 4 matching tires and they are all 225, i was going to at least get as far as i could with these until i broke down and bought a smaller front tire.

7 inch phone dials, 4.5" back spacing from the rim. 5.0" from the tire.

Now i just need to get my rear drums drilled and studs pressed so i can drive it. but no one seems to want to do it! :(

you might want to check if you will rub when to turn......I have a 64(not a super) but You might have the same problem as me...I have 205's on my bug and if I try to turn sharp..like in the driveway...my tire rubs on my sway bar....just a thought....

I guess i'm just lucky.. i went down and cranked the wheel all the way both directions and checked.. it doesn't touch anything either way i turn it.. unless it rubs against the fender when i put those on. :)
