Roll pan to replace running boards?

Is there a rolled pan available to repalce the running boards on a 1302? I figure it would look pretty cool, especially if you move the jack-points in and use small mercedes style body plugs to hide the holes.
Have I just missed seeing them?

rolled pans....hmmmm?

I've never heard of such a thing, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
If you're going for the look I think you're going for....then you'll more than likely
need to custom fabricate something. I have seen pics of people using some type of kit bash of a "new" beetle or maybe a fiberglass application to create the effect of no rails...
GOTO the first page of the general gallery and there is a guy w/ an amazing red bug with such a look.
Maybe that is what you want or similar?
Hope that helps get you started.

The red one and the silver one both have a nice no-running board look. I just figuredthere would be something floating around without the porsche-style spats on them.
HMMM maybe this is a "new" prouduct for bugs?

Hi

I was at an aluminium shop the other day and they really cool extrusions for seats, they would make nice running boards.

actually, i had a thought about that awhile back, my idea was to take 2 inch PVC pipe an fberglass over it. remove the PVC and cut a notch into it and glass some mounting brackets on it. that way it would just be a smooth roll
