another gauges issue...

hi guys,
it's my first post here in this wonderfull forum, my car is a '69 1300 beetle with a mild mods.,...
i have two questions and i know that there is some experts here could help me with...
1>>i recently got an air/fuel gauge(autogauge brand), but it deosn't come with the o2 sensor, so i need one,,,my question is where i could find such a sensor, is there is another car installs it as stock and i could have it from it...(the problem is i live now in egypt and there no place i can go and easily pick an aftermarket o2 sensor)...
btw, i bought another gauge(autogauge too) "oil temp one", and it works fine and accurate enough...
so plz support me guys where i could get this sensor and ofcourse fit in my gauge and works fine in it(somthing compatible)...
2>>i want to install a head temp gauge and i ust don't know anything about this device, i heared that an exhaust gas temp will be a fine replacment and reads the head condition as well...there is no such a device here in egypt too, so i need ur help finding a good part in the internet but with resonable price cuz i shall have a shipping fees and i don't intend to send for a gauge as much as the head costs here itself :D ...i could live with a fine used part if u guys gt any(gauge and sensor, i think a spark seat sensor)...

btw, nice rides u got guys, really nice work  ...

if the retail on the gauge is less than $100 then you need to find a narrowband sensor ( 0-1V). Youre not going to get very good resolution and be VERY careful using it for tuning. They arent too accurate and wont detect spikes. Good for general use though.

If you cant find it on eBay, then it doesnt exist

cb have a full kit (1 and 3 wires) , does anyone tried it or heared somthing about it?

I put a Summit A/F gauge in my son's bus. Most A/F gauges will work with stock narrow band O2 sensors. The diff. between a 1 and a 3 wire sensor is that the 3 wire sensor has a 12 volt heater and the 1 wire does not (takes a little longer to start working).
I have run VDO CHT gauges on most of my cars. I looked at an Autometer CHT gauge but most are 100-300 deg. max and the senders for the spark plugs are $90 ea. The VDO is 100-600 deg. and the replacement seners are $14.

Not stock as in aircooled VW Beetle stock. But as in universal Bosch sensor used on many cars/trucks from the mid 80's on.

there is a lot of civics and korean cars here so it's easy to get an o2 sensor from these models, but unfortunatly i don't know whether it is a narrow-band or wide-band,
and i asked here alot about the bosch's sensors but there's none available(in egypt)...
but the other models is widely spreaded here...

generally wide band lamda,s are only used for datalogging or efi systems , if it's connected to a guage it will be narrow band, mte make a good range of sensors and they are made in italy so should be available in egypt

i know there is a lot of good sensors, but the "buying overseas" or any other import goods outside egypt will be too hard to get and too expensive too to get here :( ,,,
my only option is to get this from here,,,, we have the "auto gauge" a/f gauges here so i'm gonna stick with this brand(i got one and it's install maunal just show the ecu installing procedure and offcourse my car is not ECUed),,, now the sensor issue, is the stock type sensor in many efi cars will work or it needs an ecu or somthing to mesure correctly,,,or just install it in the headers and attach in to the gauge, and what is the wires need in this sensor????
what to do, help

Michael
