Adaptors

How do you guys feel about wheel adaptors? Are safe to use? I am thinking about having a set machined by WheelAdaptors.com

They did my front adaptors. Very pleased with them. VDubEngineering does custom adaptors as well.

If you need them large enough, you should go with hubcentric adaptors. I didn't need hubcentric adaptors on the front or rear because I still had hub to work with.

Edit: I geezed a bit on this post. I have spacers, not adaptors. Everything else I wrote is accurate according to what I researched and was told.

Looking to go to 4x100 and run 16" wheels. Do you think that I will need hubcentric adaptors for this? By the way what is the difference between hubcentric and not?

First off, I don't think there is a single thing wrong with the current technology of billet wheel adapters. They are as strong as any wheel and the only downside would be the small amount of weight they add. JMHO

Hubcentric means (I think) that there is a raised lip in the center section of your hub and a recess in the wheel. The two fit each other and the wheel would stay "centered" even bfore you started putting the lugs/bolts on. We put a set of Audi TT wheels on our Jetta and they were so hubcentric that to change the tire, you had to take all the lugs out and give the wheel a nice hard kick to get it to release.
I also second talking to Lanner (VDubEngineering) about making you up a set. He can run down all the specifics on wether you need the hubcentric or not.
