I searched to find what the pros & cons of Type 1 & Type 4. In one post it was stated that a Type 1 with the same displacement as a Type 4 would make more horsepower but less torque. The main reasons I found that a TIV would outlast a T1 are fixable like T1 no oil filter; add one, T1 case cracks; replace it with an aluminum one, & many others seem to be user mistakes. I am in no way pointing the finger here as I would like to know why the T1 would not last as long as a TIV if you fix all of the engineering/technology problems it has. If anyone can explain the power issue I am still scratching my head on that one. :)
