hey guys well I was at the vw shop a few weeks ago and I help to rebuild my ex girl friends 1600 to a 1641 and I was told by John @ johnsbugshop.com and showen an elephant on the main bear and other parts of the motor what's with that, does anyone know ?? germany really doesn't have any thing to do with elephants so ya lol.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 2.0 turbo T4, and the elephant on the bearing indicates its an original KS bearing. My engine has never been rebuilt and I have an elephant symbol as well.

they really felt like confusing the Americans 30-40 years down the road?
